Abstract

This paper examines the integration between neuroscience and Qur’anic ethics in explaining anger regulation through a biopsychospiritual framework. Using the Qur’anic verse Āli ‘Imrān [3]:134 as a moral anchor, “those who restrain their anger and forgive others,” the study connects neurobiological mechanisms of anger control, particularly the amygdala–prefrontal dynamics, with Qur’anic guidance on self-restraint (kaẓm al-ghayẓ). Neuroscientific research shows that prefrontal activation inhibits limbic impulsivity, a process paralleled in the Qur’anic concept of taqwā and forgiveness as higher moral regulation. This synthesis offers an integrative model where biological control, psychological awareness, and spiritual virtue operate harmoniously to manage anger
