Peer Review Process
Journal of Islamic Economics, Management, and Business (JIEMB): published twice in a year, is a peer-reviewed journal and specializes in Islamic Economy, Business, and Management thought, research and present issues.
All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking. Editors check the plagiarism detection of articles in this journal by using a Turnitin software.
Every manuscript submitted to JIEMB goes through the following stages.
1. Initial screening
The editor first checks each submission against the journal’s requirements:
- the manuscript falls within the journal’s Focus and Scope;
- it matches one of the accepted manuscript types and is 4,000–8,000 words long, including figures and tables (see Manuscript Types);
- it follows the Author Guidelines and the Article Template;
- its similarity index does not exceed 20%, as checked with plagiarism-detection software (see Screening for Plagiarism).
A manuscript that does not meet these requirements may be returned to the author for adjustment before review, or rejected.
2. Double-blind peer review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are double blind peer-reviewed by at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers with expertise in the manuscript’s topic. The review is double-blind: the identities of the authors and the reviewers are not disclosed to each other. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript.
3. Revision
The reviewers’ comments are sent to the author, who must revise the manuscript accordingly and submit the revised version together with a response to each comment.
4. Editorial decision
The editor assesses the revised manuscript. If the revisions adequately address the reviewers’ comments and meet the journal’s standards, the manuscript proceeds to the next stage of publication. If they do not, the manuscript is returned to the author for further revision. Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments.
5. Publication
Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issue.
