Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Wahana Akademika: Jurnal Studi Islam dan Sosial invites scientists and researchers in Islamic studies, social and educational disciplines.

Papers submitted or submitted for publication must conform to the following provisions:

  1. Articles submitted have not been published in other journals, original, research-based, unpublished and not reviewed for possible publications in other journals.
  2. Articles containing introductions, results, discussions, conclusions.
  3. Abstracts are written in Indonesian and Indonesian for up to 200 words, including introduction, method, result, and discussion.
  4. Keywords contain three to five words / phrases separated by semicolons and arranged alphabetically.
  5. The introduction consists of background studies, problems, methods, prior research and theoretical framework.
  6. All submitted articles are subject to editor reviews, editorial teams, and reviewers.
  7. Articles can be written in both Indonesian and English between about 6,000 - 8,000 words including tables, drawings, and references.
  8. Excerpts, sections, and words in the local language must be translated into Indonesian or English, adapted to the language of the article.
  9. All records should appear as excerpts in the oral / in-text quote NOT in the footnotes. A quotation and bibliographic style using Referencing Manager with a Turabian quote style.
  10. Posts that violate our guidelines in format or length will be rejected without a re-review.
  11. The paper should be written based on the template and author guidelines.
  12. This journal only accepts electronic submissions.
