Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) is a peer-reviewed and open access journal published by the Postgraduate Program of Walisongo State Islamic University, Semarang. It kindly invites original articles on a broad range of issues within Islamic studies and humanities.
Scope
Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) intends to publish a high-standard of theoretical or empirical research articles within the scope of Islamic studies and humanities, which include but are not limited to theology, mysticism, cultural studies, philology, law, philosophy, literature, archaeology, history, sociology, anthropology, and art. All accepted manuscripts will be published both online and in printed forms.
Peer Review Process
Submission and processing of manuscripts to Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) are done on a non-paying basis.
The editor gives the first judgment of each manuscript submitted. When they see the manuscript having potential appropriate for the journal, it goes to a review process. By the time of the completion of the review process, a decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript is made by the editor.
Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) has a double-blind review process. Information of the identity of authors are hidden from their reviewers and vice versa information of the identity of reviewers are hidden from the authors. Peer reviewers may receive information of the identity of the author after a decision of a manuscript is reached, either accepted or rejected.
A decision on the manuscript generally will be made within three or four months after submission; delays in obtaining reviews may prolong the process. All correspondence is carried on electronically, including sending and receiving a manuscript throughout the process of editorial to and from author, editor, and reviewer.
Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) employs Turnitin as a plagiarism checker to ensure the integrity of all submitted manuscripts.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) commits to peer-review integrity. It employs Turnitin as a plagiarism checker to detect the originality of each submitted manuscript. Authors submitting to Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities (JISH) should be aware that their manuscripts may be submitted to a plagiarism checker during the peer review. Moreover, authors are also highly recommended to uphold the integrity of their works in relation to conflicts of interest, falsification and fabrication of data, plagiarism, unethical experimentation, inadequate subject consent, and authorship disputes. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, the reviewer, and the publisher.
Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication. The publication of an article in JISH is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific methods. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the editor, the reviewer, the publisher, and the society. As the publisher of JISH, Postgraduate of State Islamic University (UIN) Walisongo takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and it recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities. The institution committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions.
Publication decisions. The editor of the JISH is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Fair play. An editor at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality. The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and conflicts of interest. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author
