Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Articles should be original, research-based or review article, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review of the editors, editorial board, and blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review.

Articles should be written approximately 4.500-7.500 words including text, all tables, and figures, notes, references, and appendices intended for publication. All submission must include 150-200 words abstract and 3 to 5 keywords. JISH accepts only electronic submissions.

General Guideline

  • The article has not been published in other journals or other places.
  • The article should be written in Bahasa Indonesia, English (United State of America English) or Arabic with a formal style and structure. This is because it is a fully peer-reviewed academic journal so that an oral and informal language would not be accepted.
  • The article is an original work of the author/s.
  • The author/s have the responsibility to check thoroughly the accuracy of citation, grammar, table and figures before submission.
  • The author/s have the responsibility to revise their article after receiving a review from the editorial boards.
  • The author/s should register at the e-journal of Journal of Islamic Studies and Humanities before submitting their paper and fill the form completely.
  • The article should be submitted via online.
  • The articles will be reviewed by Editorial Board.

Structure of the Article

Title

  • The title should be clear, short and concise that depicts the main concern of the article.
  • The title should contain the main variable or focus of the research.
  • The title should be typed in a bold and capital letter.

Name of the author/s

  • The author/s name should be typed below the title of the article without academic title
  • The author/s address (affiliation) should be typed below the name of the author/s
  • The author/s email address should be typed below the author/s address

Abstract

  • Abstract written in English and Bahasa, explaining introduction, method, and result.
  • Abstract should be written in one paragraph, single space and in italic
  • Abstract should be in 150 words minimum and 200 words maximum

Keywords

  • Keywords should consist of 3-5 words or phrases.
  • Keywords should be typed in italic

Introduction consists of background statement, research questions, methods, theoretical framework (optional), literature review.

Hypothesis (optional) is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon as a tentative assumption made in order to draw out and test its logical or empirical consequences. It should be mention in positive sentence

Research Finding consists of the research findings, including description of the collected data, analysis of the data, and interpretation of the data using the relevant theory.

Conclusion is not merely a summary of the main topics covered or a re-statement of your research problem but a synthesis of key points and, if applicable, where you recommend new areas for future research.

Bibliography is a reading list that enriches the writing so that it remains listed authors with or without directly referenced in the text. Bibliography consequently load all the author's reading list compiled alphabetically

Technical Regulations of Writing

How to present table

  • Title of the table should be typed above the table and centered position of the text, 12pt font Times New Roman
  • The word “table” and “number of the table” should be typed in bold, while the title of the table should be typed in regular font.
  • Numbering for the title of table should use an Arabic number(1, 2, 3, and so forth)
  • Table should be appeared to align text to the left.
  • To write the content of the table, it might use Arial, 8-11pt, 1.0 space.
  • Source of the table should be typed below the table, align text to the left, 10pt font Time New Roman.

How to present picture, graph, photo, and diagram

Picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram should be placed at the center.

  • Number and title should be typed above the picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram.
  • Number and the word of the picture, graph, figure, photo and diagram should be typed in bold, 12pt Font Times New Roman and at the center, while the title of them should be typed in normal (not bold).
  • Number of the picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram should use an Arabic word (1, 2, 3 and so forth).
  • Source of the picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram should be typed below the table, align text to the left, 10pt font Time New Roman.
  • Picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram should not be in colorful type (should be in white, black, or gray).

Writing of Reference and Bibliography

All citations must be in footnotes. Citations and bibliographical style must be set automatically using Reference Manager (e.g. Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero) in Chicago Manual of Style (full note footnotes). Any notes may appear in footnotes.

Transliteration style

Transliteration Arab-Latin style refers to SKB Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia Number 158 the year 1987 and 0543b/U/1987.
