Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JPW (Jurnal Politik Walisongo) must adhere to the Focus and Scope and comply with the Author's Guidelines. This journal is dedicated to publishing original research and contemporary concerns in Indonesian political science. Submissions presenting original contributions to political studies are strongly requested.

Authors must rigorously comply with Ethical Standards, especially in research with human beings, sensitive political matters, or potential ethical ramifications. All studies involving surveys, interviews, or field research must include evidence of Ethical Clearance or a declaration affirming adherence to ethical research principles.

Manuscripts must adhere to the formatting standards of scientific publications. Authors are required to adhere to the guidelines established in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition. Utilizing Mendeley or Zotero reference management software in conjunction with the chosen citation style is advisable.

All manuscripts submitted to this publication must be composed in English or Bahasa Indonesia. English manuscripts must preserve a superior level of grammatical precision. Authors are advised to employ expert proofreading services if required.

Authors must verify that their work has not been published or submitted to other venues. All manuscripts will undergo screening with plagiarism detection tools to guarantee originality. Authors are advised to verify the similarity of their manuscript with TurnitinTM or iThenticateTM before to submission. The editorial crew will moreover assess similarity utilizing the same technologies, adhering to a maximum similarity criterion of 15%.

All manuscripts submitted to JPW will be subjected to a double-blind peer review process, wherein the identity of both authors and reviewers are obscured from one another. The Editor-in-Chief will perform a preliminary evaluation of the manuscript's appropriateness. Manuscripts considered suitable will be forwarded to a minimum of two impartial reviewers for assessment of their scientific merit. A third reviewer may be engaged to offer supplementary insights if required. The Editor-in-Chief possesses ultimate authority in the acceptance or rejection of articles based on reviewers' evaluations.

The ultimate decision on submission acceptance and publication timing is exclusively made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or Handling Editor, with consultation from the Editorial Board as necessary. Factors to consider encompass the order of approved dates, subject concerns, and geographical diversity of contributors.

JPW (Jurnal Politik Walisongo) is published by the Political Science Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. It functions as a forum for academic discussion on Indonesian political science, encompassing textual analyses and empirical research from several viewpoints, including philosophy, law, sociology, anthropology, economics, history, education, and other fields.
