As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The manuscript will transfered copyright to Physics Education Research Journal (PERJ)

Physics Education Research Journal (PERJ) is published twice a year. Articles published in this journal are the results of empirical research in  physic education field, including: physics education theory, physics learning, assessment and evaluation in physics, media of physics learning, physics curriculum, learning methods considering unity of science (local wisdom and enriched with the principal of religion and culture). The current issue of applied physics are also welcome, include: electronic and instrumentation physics, materials science, theoretical and computational physics, earth sciences, biophysics and medical physics, electromagnetism and optics, nuclear and particle physics.

Editors invite experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts in physics education to write a research article in this journal. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted papers are subject to review of the editors, editorial board, and double blind reviewers. Submissions that violate our guidelines on formatting or length will be rejected without review.

Online Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts must be sent online to the online portal of Physics Education Research Journal on page https://journal.walisongo.ac.id/index.php/perj/index

Submitting steps

  1. Author creates an account on the register menu or through the link http://journal.walisongo.ac.id/index.php/perj/user/register. Make sure you register as an author in the "register as" column.
  2. Author logins using the account that was created.
  3. Click "new submission".
  4. Step 1. START. Submission checklist must be checked completely, then click "save and continue".
  5. Step 2. UPLOAD SUBMISSION. Click "choose file", select the file to upload (in .doc/.docx), then click "upload". After the file is uploaded, click "save and continue". 
  6. Step 3. ENTER METADATA. Author must complete the data for authors, title and abstract, references. Continue to the next step by clicking "save and continue".
  7. Step 4. UPLOAD SUPPLEMENTARY FILES. Upload suppementary files if they exist, then continue to click "save and continue".
  8. Step 5. CONFIRMATION. Click "finish submission".
  9. Author monitors the submission status on the Physics Education and Research Journal page and is willing to revise the article according to the editor / reviewer's advice until the publication process is complete.

General Instructions

  1. Manuscripts sent must be original and do not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. Manuscript sent will transfered copyright to Physics Education Research Journal (PERJ)
  3. The manuscript will be checked for plagiarism using Turnitin.
  4. Manuscipt has not been published/submitted in another publisher (journals, proceedings, conferences, etc).
  5. Written articles must be based research in the field of physics/physics education.
  6. Articles are formatted according to the writing pattern of the scientific journal. Writing articles follow the rules set out in Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition. Please use Mendeley reference management software, turn on “the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition.” 
  7. Articles typed in Garamond (11 pt) with 1,0 spacing in Microsoft Word format with a page size A4 (21 x 29,7 cm).
  8. The article is written in Indonesian or English using grammatical rules. In general, the English article is in the past tense.
  9. Articles submitted will be reviewed by two reviewers in a double blind review.
  10. Manuscipt must be sent online at http://journal.walisongo.ac.id/index.php/perj/index page

  12. Inappropriate articles will be rejected.

Particular Instructions

  1. The article is the result of empirical research in physics education/physics.
  2. Because of the "Double Blind Review" system, the author hoped not to include the name, the name, and address of the institution and email address in the cover of the article. The author's name, the name of the institution, as well as the email address listed at the time of registration on the OJS author. To facilitate communication should include an active mobile number.
  3. The content and systematics of articles written using the format presented in a narrative essay in the form of a paragraph, without numbering in front subtitles, and should include these components:
  • >> Title, provided that: a) the title is the formulation of a brief discussion of content, compact, and clear. May use the title of creative and attract readers (maximum 20 words). b) the title is written in English/Indonesian. c) the title is typed in bold, use capital letters for each beginning of a word, except for conjunctions and prepositions.
  • >> Abstract written in English and Indonesian. Abstract is the essence of the subject of the whole article. Abstract written in one paragraph within one space, with a maximum length of 300 words. Abstract presented briefly and clearly, it must contain four (4) elements, namely: Reasons for the selection of topics or the importance of the research topic, the aims of the reseach, research methods, and finding of the results.
  • >> Keywords contains basic words in the study, can be drawn from the research variables, characteristics of the subjects, and the theory of the referenced (minimum three words or combinations of words, written in alphabetical order).
  • >> Introduction contains background of the problems, objectives and benefits of the research, the literature review, and concludes with the hypothesis (maximum number of pages approximately 30%).
  • >> Method contains the identification of the variables, the research subjects, research instruments and methods of research including used data analysis techniques (maximum number of pages approximately 15%).
  • >> Results and Discussion show exposure data analysis, consisted of descriptive statistics, test results of the assumptions and results of hypothesis testing are presented sequentially or integrated; including an explanation of the results of research associated with the results of previous studies, critically analyzed and linked to relevant recent literature (number of pages approximately 30-40%).
  • >> Conclusions answers from the research objectives written concise, clear, and compact based on the results of research and discussion (approximately 1 page).
  • >> Bibliography contains reference sources written alphabetically and chronologically, Referral sources are published literature in the last 10 years (especially of the journal). Referral preferred are the primary sources in the form of books, reports (including dissertation), or research articles in scientific journals and magazines. It is suggested to use Mendeley as a reference manager at styling the citations and the bibliography.
