1. JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was established in February 2016, with p-ISSN 2503-3166, based on a Decree of the ISSN National Centre for Indonesia, dated 20 April 2016, and e-ISSN 2503-3182, based on a Decree of the ISSN National Centre for Indonesia, dated 20 April 2016. 
2. JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was launched in May 2017.
3. Starting Vol 2 No 1 (2018) the editor performed a full-text design improvement by placing the journal logo in the article header.
4. JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was awarded Publication Grant by the Funding Program for Research-Based Journal Accreditation in 2018 from the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education, Directorate General of Islamic Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (See Decree).
5. JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was accredited on the 3rd Level (SINTA 3) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and High Education of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019 (See Decree).
6. JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was accredited on the 2nd Level (SINTA 2) by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and High Education of the Republic of Indonesia in 2019 (See Decree).
7. In an effort to become a journal of international repute, in the second half of 2020, JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) started to publish several articles in English. 
8. Since 2021 JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) publishes all articles in English.
9. On October 2022, JSW (Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo) was awarded Grant for Improving the Quality of Reputable International Journals for the 2022 Fiscal Year from the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education, Directorate General of Islamic Education, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs (See Decree).
