Qibla direction accuracy is an important aspect of Islamic prayer, yet hospital prayer facilities have received relatively little attention. This study examines qibla direction accuracy in hospital prayer facilities in Palopo City and explores its implications for spiritual service provision. The study used a mixed-methods, sequential explanatory design, combining qibla azimuth measurements obtained through spherical trigonometry and astronomical instruments with interviews of hospital management, prayer-facility administrators, and users. The study was conducted at six hospitals in Palopo City. The findings show that four facilities (66.7%) had accurate qibla orientation with zero deviation, while two facilities (33.3%), St. Madyang Hospital and Mujaisyah Hospital, exhibited a 12° deviation and therefore require correction. Although the mean deviation was 4°, the median was 0°, indicating that most facilities had accurate qibla orientation. Qualitative findings further show that the availability and completeness of worship facilities do not necessarily reflect qibla accuracy. These findings suggest that spiritual service provision in hospitals depends not only on the availability of worship facilities but also on their accuracy, functionality, and ongoing maintenance.
