Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

JOECCE: Journal of Early Childhood and Character Education published twice a year, peer-reviewed journal, and specializes in Multiple intelligence Early Childhood and Character Education research and issue.

Papers submitted for publication must conform to the following guidelines:

  1. The article should be an original scientific paper, has never been published, and is not being submitted for publication in other media/journals.
  2. The article can be the result of the study (literature), conceptual ideas, studies, application of theories, and criticism in the multiple intelligence.
  3. The article contains an introduction, result, discussion, conclusion (If the quantitative research must include research methodology)
  4. Abstract written in English and Indonesia with a length of 200-250 words, explaining introduction, method, result, and discussion.
  5. Keywords contain three to five words/phrases separated by semicolon and arranged by alphabetic
  6. The introduction contains the research background, problem formulation, methods, previous research, and theoretical framework
  7. The research method contains research design, research instruments, procedure, and data analysis.
  8. The result contains the outcomes of the study. Use statistical tables and figures whenever appropriate. The findings should be able to answer the research questions or hypotheses.
  9. The discussion contains critical thinking on the comparisons and contrasts between the current findings and previous relevant/similar studies done by other researchers. The authors should also address the strengths and limitations of their study. This section should not be a repetition of the results section. It should also provide practical implications for findings.
  10. The conclusion contains presents the summary and restatement of the main findings. It should be presented in concise, clear, and compact sentences based on the results and discussions in paragraphs (not in bullets or numbers). This section should also highlight the limitations, implications of the findings, and possible prospective research while stating the findings holistically.
  11. The references provide a list of references alphabetically and prepared following the American Psychological Association (APA) Referencing Style (7th Edition). All citations must be cited in references. In addition, the DOI for each reference must be provided if available. It is suggested that authors use reference manager programs such as Mendeley or Zotero.
  12. All submitted articles are subject to the review of the editors, editorial board, and peer reviewers.
  13. The length of the manuscript for this journal should be between 4000-5000 words including references and abstracts but does not include tables, appendices, and figures.
  14. Citations and bibliographical style must be set automatically using Reference Manager (e.g. mendelay APA 7th)
  15. Articles must have references of minimally 15 articles (with article DOI)
  16. The articles do not contain the results of plagiarism, falsification, and fabrication of data and must be under 20 % check by plagiarism software (Turnitin).
  17. This journal accepts only electronic submissions.
  18. Papers must be written based on the template and author guidelines.
  19. Submissions that violate our guidelines concerned with formatting or length will be rejected without review.
