Authorship Criteria

1. Introduction

Daluang: Journal of Library and Information Science upholds transparency, fairness, and integrity in authorship and contributorship. This policy defines authorship criteria, author responsibilities, and recognition of other contributions. It refers to relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

2. Authorship Criteria

Authors must meet all the following criteria:

  1. Make substantial contributions to the conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation of the research.

  2. Draft the manuscript or critically revise it for significant intellectual content.

  3. Approve the final version for publication.

  4. Accept accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the work.

Gift, guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are prohibited. All individuals who meet the authorship criteria must be appropriately credited, regardless of academic position, institutional affiliation, or seniority.

3. Contributorship and Acknowledgments

Contributors who do not meet all authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. Such contributions may include funding acquisition, supervision, technical assistance, translation, proofreading, and administrative support.

The corresponding author must obtain permission from individuals named in the Acknowledgments section. Research participants and other contributors must be acknowledged in accordance with applicable ethical and confidentiality requirements.

4. Author Order and Corresponding Author

Authors must agree on the order of authorship before submission, based on their respective contributions. One author must be designated as the corresponding author to communicate with the journal, coordinate the submission process, confirm all authors’ approval, and ensure the accuracy of authorship information.

The corresponding author’s coordinating responsibilities do not exempt other authors from accountability for their contributions.

5. Changes in Authorship

Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief with a clear justification and written consent from all authors involved. The journal may suspend manuscript processing while the request is evaluated. Changes, when approved, will be documented through a formal correction after publication, where appropriate.

6. Author Contributions and AI Use

Authors are encouraged to provide an author contribution statement, using the CRediT taxonomy where appropriate. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscripts and must disclose relevant AI use in accordance with the journal’s applicable policies.

7. Authorship Disputes and Accountability

Authors are expected to resolve authorship disputes through mutual agreement or their respective institutions. The journal may suspend editorial processing until a dispute is resolved. For concerns raised after publication, the journal will assess the matter in accordance with relevant COPE guidance and take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

All authors are responsible for their respective contributions and must cooperate with reasonable requests to clarify concerns about the published work. The journal reserves the right to request supporting documentation regarding authorship and contributorship at any stage of the publication process.
