Editorial Independence

Lack of Interference With Editorial Decisions

Editorial independence is a crucial principle in the management of the Jurnal Theologia. The Faculty of Ushuluddin and Humanities of Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN) Semarang, as the owner of the journal, expressly refrains from interfering with editorial decisions. The relationship between the editor-in-chief and the journal owner is based on the definition of editorial independence established by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), which affirms that the editor-in-chief has full authority over all journal editorial content and the timing of publication.

All articles published in Jurnal Theologia undergo a peer review process and are evaluated by an independent Editorial Board. Staff from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Humanities are not involved in manuscript acceptance decisions. In making editorial decisions, the editorial team must consider solely the following:

- The appropriateness of the selection of reviewers;
- The adequacy of the reviewer's comments and the author's responses;
- The overall scientific quality of the manuscript.
Jurnal Theologia is committed to fulfilling its mission of ensuring that knowledge and research findings are accessible openly, widely, promptly, and fairly.

Editors and Editorial Staff as Authors

To maintain the integrity and transparency of the editorial process, editors and editorial staff are prohibited from being involved in the processing of their own academic manuscripts. Manuscripts submitted by editors or editorial staff will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers from outside the editorial board. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection will be made by another member of the Editorial Board who has no conflict of interest with the author.

With these principles, Jurnal Theologia guarantees the credibility, objectivity, and academic quality of every publication it produces.
