Theologia

About the Journal

Jurnal Theologia is an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the study of comparative theology and scriptural hermeneutics. Published biannually by the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Humanities at UIN Walisongo, Semarang, Indonesia, the journal provides a scholarly platform for rigorous research on theological thought, scriptural interpretation, and interreligious intellectual engagement. It holds ISSN 0853-3857 (print) and E-ISSN 2540-847X (online), and is nationally accredited at SINTA 2 under the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia No. 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025.

The journal welcomes original research articles that examine how religious communities interpret sacred texts, formulate theological doctrines, negotiate questions of authority and truth, and respond to both historical and contemporary challenges. It particularly encourages studies that explore theological reasoning and hermeneutical practices within and across traditions, especially in relation to Islam, Christianity, and other scriptural religions. Its scope includes comparative theology, Qur’anic and biblical hermeneutics, scriptural reasoning, theology of religions, interreligious theology, and critical studies on revelation, prophecy, salvation, ethics, authority, and religious meaning, including relevant interdisciplinary approaches.

Theologia prioritizes submissions that demonstrate conceptual clarity, methodological rigor, and strong engagement with international scholarly discourse. Preference is given to articles offering analytical depth, comparative insight, and clear contributions to ongoing debates in theology and scriptural interpretation, while purely descriptive or narrowly local studies are not considered. A member of Crossref since 2016, all published articles are assigned DOIs with the prefix 10.21580/teo. Through its focused and distinctive profile, Theologia aims to serve as an international platform for high-quality research and to foster scholarly dialogue across religious traditions, intellectual contexts, and academic disciplines.
