The current name of the journal is Teosofia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Mysticism. Initially, it was named Teosofia, based on the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) provided by Pusat Nasional ISSN Indonesia (printed version), on 01 November 2012. On 06 September 2016, the journal's name was changed to Teosofia: Indonesian Journal of Islamic Mysticism, based on the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) provided by Pusat Nasional ISSN Indonesia (online version). So, the current name consists of Teosofia as the title and Indonesian Journal of Islamic Mysticism as the subtitle.
In 2016, TEOSOFIA became a CrossRef member and has a unique DOI number. TEOSOFIA has been indexed in several journal indexers, including CROSSREF, DOAJ, Google Scholar, Moraref, Sinta Ristek Dikti, One Search Indonesia, and BASE. From 2016 to the present, each publication has consisted of 8 articles. In 2016, TEOSOFIA was accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. In 2020, TEOSOFIA was accredited as SINTA 2 by the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, as per Decree No. 148/ME/KPT/2020. The Author Guidelines and article template have been updated since June 2022. They are valid from the publication of Vol. 11 No. 1 (June 2022); changes in 1) the article's abstract, 2) the Article's structure following the IMRAD model, 2) the article length, and 3) the Addition of a New Logo. In 2023, TEOSOFIA was indexed by DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). In 2023, TEOSOFIA was also awarded a Publication Grant by the Funding Program for Research-Based Journal Accreditation from the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education, Directorate General of Islamic Education, Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs. In 2024, the TEOSOFIA updated its OJS system to Open Journal Systems 3.3.0.10. In 2025, it was re-accredited as Grade 2/SINTA 2 (Science and Technology Index) by the Ministry of Education, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, based on Decree No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026, dated 2 January 2026, valid until Volume 18, No. 1 (2029).
This journal adheres to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing identified by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
