PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS BERDASARKAN MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES

Abstract
Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis selama ini masih ditinjau dari kemampuan berfikir secara keseluruhan. Setiap orang memiliki kemampuan berfikir ditinjau dari multiple intelligences. Artikel ini akan menunjukan pemetaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika berdasarkan multiple intelligences sesuai teori Gardner. Metode kualitatif deskriptif digunakan guna mengambil subjek para siswa kelas X MIPA-1 SMA Negeri 1 Kendal. Data diperoleh menggunakan teknik tes dan wawancara. Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa Tipe Multiple Intelligences logis matematis lebih unggul dibanding Tipe Multiple Intelligences lain. Hal ini disebabkan karena karakteristik Tipe Multiple Intelligences logis matematis mendukung kemampuannya dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang membutuhkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Tipe Multiple Intelligences visual-spasial, kecerdasan kinestetik dan kecerdasan interpersonal memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep yang rendah karena karakteristik yang dimiliki ketiga Tipe Multiple Intelligences ini tidak mendukung kemampuannya dalam memecahkan masalah yang membutuhkan pemahaman konsep matematis.
